Which US cities have their own residential proxy page?

30 US cities have a StatesideIP page: the 28 most populous cities, plus Atlanta and Miami. The table lists each city's 2025 Census Bureau population estimate, metro area, DMA with its rank, and area codes. Each name links to the city page, which adds ZIP code examples, neighborhoods and local ISPs.

How does city targeting work?

City targeting works by adding a city segment after the state code in the proxy username. The gateway format is USERNAME-country-{cc}-state-{state}-city-{city}-zip-{zip}-asn-{asn}-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}; keep only the segments you need. City IDs are lowercase, with underscores for spaces: new_york, los_angeles, fort_worth, oklahoma_city.

  • USERNAME-country-us-state-il-city-chicago: a new Chicago IP on every request.
  • USERNAME-country-us-state-wa-city-seattle-session-sea1-ttl-30: one Seattle IP for 30 minutes.
  • USERNAME-country-us-zip-98101: an IP in ZIP 98101, Downtown Seattle.

Use port 7777 for HTTP or 7778 for SOCKS5 on gw.statesideip.com. The ZIP code targeting page explains the ZIP level.

Chicago IP over SOCKS5 with curl
# Rotating Chicago IP through the SOCKS5 port
curl --socks5-hostname gw.statesideip.com:7778 \
  -U "USERNAME-country-us-state-il-city-chicago:PASSWORD" \
  "https://api.ipify.org?format=json"

Can I target a city that is not listed?

Yes. City targeting is not limited to the 30 cities with a page; the same naming rule works for other US cities. For example, state-ny-city-buffalo targets Buffalo, New York. Coverage in smaller cities depends on how many residential IPs are online at that moment. StatesideIP publishes no per-city pool counts. When a small city returns few IPs, target one of its ZIP codes or the whole state. The US state pages list more cities for each state.

Which DMAs and time zones do these cities cover?

The 30 city pages cover all 10 of the largest DMAs and four US time zones. A DMA (Designated Market Area) is a media market that advertisers buy as one unit, so ad checks often follow DMA lines. Two DMAs hold two city pages each:

  • Dallas-Ft. Worth (#4): Dallas and Fort Worth.
  • San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose (#9): San Francisco and San Jose.

Twelve cities are on Eastern time, 8 on Central, 3 on Mountain and 7 on Pacific. Phoenix does not observe daylight saving time. See ad verification for DMA-level checks and local SEO rank tracking for city SERPs.

US city proxies: FAQ

How much do city-targeted US residential proxies cost?

City targeting is included in every StatesideIP residential plan at no extra fee. Traffic costs $1.50 for 1 GB and falls to $0.52/GB on large plans, as of October 2026. Every plan, including the smallest, is paid from a $25 minimum top-up; the rest stays on your balance (never expires, non-refundable). DataImpulse, by comparison, charges a small extra fee for state, city, ZIP and ASN targeting (checked 2026-10-05). See every tier on the pricing page.

Do I need to verify my identity to buy city-level proxies?

No. StatesideIP sells city-level US residential proxies with no KYC — no ID, no selfie, no documents. You pay in crypto: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, LTC or SOL. Use is bound by the Acceptable Use Policy, which blocks banking, government and payment portals plus SMTP ports.

Can I switch cities without buying a new plan?

Yes. One StatesideIP residential balance works for every US city; you change the city segment in the username for each request or session. For example, swap city-chicago for city-houston and the next connection exits in Houston. Residential traffic does not expire, so the balance stays available between projects in different cities.

How long can I keep one IP in a city?

You can keep one city IP for up to 120 minutes with a sticky session. Add -session-<id>-ttl-<minutes> to the username, for example -session-den1-ttl-45 for 45 minutes in Denver. Without a session ID, StatesideIP gives a new IP on every request. A residential IP can end earlier if its home device goes offline.

Why are Miami and Atlanta on the list?

Miami and Atlanta are large markets even though their city limits hold fewer people. Miami ranks 41st by city population, but its DMA ranks 18th and its metro area had 6.4 million residents in 2025. Atlanta ranks 36th by city population, while its DMA ranks 7th and its metro area had 6.5 million residents.

Should I use residential or mobile proxies for city-level checks?

Use residential proxies for city-level checks, because they accept city and ZIP targeting. StatesideIP mobile ports are chosen by carrier, with no stock listed by city. A mobile port from $3.75/day suits one stable carrier IP instead. Compare both on the US mobile proxies page before you buy.
