Quick answer

What can I use StatesideIP proxies for?

StatesideIP proxies may be used for legitimate work such as public-data collection, SEO tracking, ad verification, price monitoring and app testing. Fraud, spam, account takeover, ban evasion and similar abuse are prohibited. Blocked on every product: Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587. No KYC still comes with rules: abuse leads to termination without a refund.

1. Who this policy applies to

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to every StatesideIP account, every sub-user and anyone who uses StatesideIP credentials. It covers every product on the pricing page: residential proxies, dedicated 4G/5G ports and rotating mobile proxies. It is part of the Terms of Service, and you accept it when you buy or use the service.

You are responsible for all traffic sent with your credentials. That includes traffic from your sub-users, your clients and the tools you run.

2. Allowed uses

You may use StatesideIP proxies for lawful purposes that respect the terms of the sites you visit. Examples:

  • collecting publicly available data at a reasonable request rate;
  • search and local SEO rank tracking, such as checking results by ZIP code;
  • ad verification and geo-testing of ads and landing pages;
  • e-commerce price, stock and delivery monitoring;
  • brand protection and market research;
  • agency social media management, with one stable IP per client account and within platform terms;
  • testing your own apps and websites from US or Canadian locations;
  • protecting your personal privacy on public networks.

3. Prohibited uses

You must not use StatesideIP proxies, directly or through others, for any of the following:

  1. fraud, scams or phishing;
  2. carding, or testing stolen payment cards;
  3. account takeover or credential stuffing;
  4. creating fake accounts in bulk, or account farming;
  5. spam by email, SMS, comments or direct messages;
  6. DDoS attacks, or flooding any service with traffic;
  7. getting around bank, payment or fraud-prevention checks;
  8. ticket or sneaker bots, and scalping;
  9. bonus, promotion or referral abuse;
  10. ban evasion, including returning to a platform that has banned you;
  11. getting around KYC, identity or SMS verification on other services;
  12. ad fraud, such as fake clicks, views or installs;
  13. hacking, vulnerability scanning or access to systems you are not authorized to use;
  14. spreading malware, or running botnet command-and-control traffic;
  15. illegal content of any kind, including child sexual abuse material;
  16. harassment, stalking or publishing someone's private information;
  17. evading law enforcement, or moving the proceeds of crime;
  18. large-scale copyright or trademark infringement;
  19. reselling StatesideIP access without written permission from StatesideIP.

These are examples. The list does not limit what counts as abuse.

4. Blocked targets

StatesideIP blocks the following on every product: Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587.

The block applies to residential proxies, dedicated 4G/5G ports and rotating mobile traffic. You must not try to get around it, for example by chaining another service or tunnel through a StatesideIP IP. Repeated attempts to reach blocked targets are a breach of this policy.

5. Your responsibilities

When you use StatesideIP proxies, you must:

  • follow the laws of your country and of the country you connect to;
  • follow the terms of the sites you visit, and their robots.txt rules where they apply;
  • keep request rates reasonable, so that you do not harm the target site;
  • keep your account number and proxy passwords secret, and change a password that has leaked;
  • make sure your sub-users and clients follow this policy;
  • answer StatesideIP when it asks about traffic on your account.

Using a proxy is generally legal in the US and Canada; what matters is the use. This is not legal advice.

6. Enforcement

StatesideIP may act without notice when it finds or receives evidence of a breach. Possible actions:

  • a warning and a request to stop;
  • blocking a sub-user;
  • suspension of the account while StatesideIP investigates;
  • termination of the account.

Accounts terminated for abuse get no refund of any balance, including unused traffic and unused port time. The refund policy lists the other cases that are not refundable.

7. Reporting abuse

Report abuse from a StatesideIP IP to [email protected]. Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension. Please include:

  • the StatesideIP IP address involved;
  • the date and time of the activity, with the time zone;
  • the target host or URL, and the type of abuse;
  • log lines or headers that show the traffic;
  • a way to reach you for follow-up questions.

The contact page explains what makes a report easy to act on.

StatesideIP reviews requests from authorities and responds to valid legal process as applicable law requires. It can only provide data it holds, which the Privacy Policy lists. StatesideIP does not ask customers for ID, so it holds no ID documents.

9. Changes to this policy

StatesideIP may update this policy. The updated date shows the current version, and major changes are noted in the changelog. If you keep using the service after a change, you accept the new version.
